a high five [Mar. 6th, 2006|09:31 pm]

[mood |contentcontent]

Spring Break soon. Huray. I like this semester for the fact that I have A's in all my classes and it's always easier to not let a grade drop rather than bring a grade up. I had a psych test last week, a bio test this Thursday, and a chem test the week after Spring break... as well as other classes tests.

I volunteered at this swim meet and got to time (press the buzzer thing) for Michael fucking Phelps. (yeah... that gold medal swimmer at the Olympics) I also have a lovely picture of his butt because he was on the dive board right in front of me... what choice did I have, really? He did the 200 butterfly and when he got out, I was writing down hos time and just out of instinct said, "Good job" and he gave me a high five. Michael Phelps gave me a high five. Would I have been reading too much into that if I thought by the high five he meant, "hey, lets get together tonight?"

Anyhow... I think on Saturday (the Saturday after Spring break) the boyfriend and I are going to San Antiono and going to the Alamo. I love the Alamo... and I can never see it too many times. That'll be fun.

I like that picture ^. Ashley, the one pointing at the camera, sent it to me. I think somehow I made a spill on my highest honor cord during graduation and that's what I'm looking at. I didn't have anything to drink to spill on. Ugh.

Anyhow... I'm going home. Ashley, my friend from Baylor is going home... as is Jenny and Scott. Kelley, Maria, Liz, and Kelley went home last weekend. Not so sure I'm going to be up for the Mardi Gras festives seeing as it looks like it's going to be 50 degress out and raining. However, I do look forward to seeing my parents. I didn't get to go home once last semester besides for Thanksgiving.

Lats semester, I had, basically, all of my first tests for classes... and I made an A on them all too. I was in the top 90% of my class for ch302 as well... which was very pleasing because last semester I started off a bit rocky. It's a nice way to start off the semester, you know? Not being so worried about bringing up grades? Just worrying about not letting them drop is easier. Fortunately, I was able to bring up chem and bio, last semester to A's, but it's a lot more reassuring starting off with mid-A's in the class... so yea for hard work.

My roommate was gone yesterday. She went to A&M to be with a friend because her classes got canceled today. So, boyfriend and I had a slumber party! We go to the gym on Monday and Friday morning at 6:15am, so it's a lot closer from my dorm room than his apartment for him to walk.

Ok... off to bio and psychology and then home! woohoo!

1/3 of the way through my first semester of college [Oct. 13th, 2005|10:15 am]

Chemistry and biology are challenging. I've got 500 kids in my chem class that want to be doctors. It's freaking big.

In my spare time I study, eat, go to the boyfriend's apartment, or play intramural sports. I'm playing with my dorm floor in flag football. We're awesome I'd have to say. I made five QB sacs, two tackles, and three recieved passes with gained yards on Tuesday. I also play with my brother and his friends. He made a co-ed team. It's in a harder division than my dorm team but still fun. Those game are Thursdays at 9pm and before that, at 8pm, I play with a soccer team. It makes me really sore because I do a lot of diving in football to get flags and I sprint for 30 minutes in soccer, but it's fun.

I'll keep you my dirty little secret [Aug. 17th, 2005|09:33 am]

What is the most you have ever re-read a book?

Because, besides books like The Pokey Little Puppy, I've only read a novel twice. And that was The Picture of Dorian Grey. (I'm trying to read it a third time) Yesterday, I bought The Five People You Meet in Heaven. And I used to read these book by Lurlene McDaniel about teenage kids who always had some form of cancer, brain tumor, leukemia, etc. I literally had 50 of these books lying around the house. Their usually about 150 pages so I can knock it out in about two hours. These books were my Animorphs, Sweet Valley High, or Goose Bumps for other kids.

So... college... I have to go there soon. Less than a week actually. I still really need to get sheets and dorm stuff. Maria, my roommate has been in Norway for the past three weeks visiting family and such so I'm sort of waiting for her to get back. I leave the 24th to move in. I am going to have separation anxiety when it comes to leaving Cinni, my dog.

Oh.... and my dirty little secret is that I don't wear panties to the gym.

So... lots of stuff to say.

Four more days of work!! I've been at Olympia cafe for four months now and I'm damn well and ready to leave. Those bitches started taxing our tips now instead of receiving them at the end of each shift which sucks major ass because A)My tips are taxed and B)My bosses decide how mich I make. But they like me so I got $200 in tips last check. My last day is Wednesday and Jenny, Andrea, Kelley, Sam, and Ashley are coming in around 9 when stuff starts to slow down.

Everyone is getting ready for college! And I'm not ready at all. Maria, my roommate is visiting family in Norway so I'm sort of waiting for her to go dorm room shopping... I found this cool place at the mall that had those huge life size cut outs of people and posters that I want to buy for our room. The coolest real life cut out they have is of James Dean. He's a cool cat. I need to do so much.

We're thinking of going to Hawaii for winter break. Michael's last final is the 20th so we'd leave the 22nd and come back two weeks later which means we wouldn't do the whole present giving thing, which I'm ok with. I'm getting to that age where I don't ask for much and if I do, it's rather expensive. How awesome would it be to spend Christmas in Hawaii!? I'm also at the age where I can help plan. My mother and I were looking at the different islands. (Kauai is what most people expect Hawaii to be like.... like the Santorini of Greece) I like being able to plan out what we do. I definitely want a coconut bra.

Greece [Feb. 6th, 2005|08:47 pm]

[music |"There's no I in Team" Taking Back Sunday]

I'm going to Greece. Fucking Greece. Earlier in the year Ms. Hall (our crazy NHS sponsor) approached a few of the girls about this idea. Andrea put my name in because she knew I'd be interested. We made our first $90 co payment in December and our second $400.00 payment the other day so it's finalized now. (I still have a heck load on money to pay but it's for sure) It's Katie W, Kelley, Andrea, Christina, Caroline, Amy S, Anna, Jenny, me, and Ms. Hall. (As an NHS sponsor, she sucks. But, as a person, I like her very much)

We depart June 9th for Athens and come back the 21st for Houston. How freaking awesome!? We'll all (most of us anyway) be 18. And the ones that don't, it doesn't matter anyway. (Our soccer coach this year is from Greece. He said he and his friends went to clubs and drank since they began high school) And you know what that means... plenty of drinky drinky in Greecy! Ms. Hall brought that one up, not us.... even though it was on our minds. Everyday since this semester began, what keeps me going through school is college and Greece.

Here's the itinerary:
DAY1: flight
DAY2:discover Athens
DAY3:more Athens (it is the capital... there's a shitload to do)
DAY4:sightseeing of Delphi
DAY5-8: a cruise. a fucking cruise of the islands of Greece
DAY9:Cape Sounion
DAY10: sightseeing in Epidaurus, Mycenae and transfer to Tolo
DAY11: Pilos
DAY12:sightseeing of Olympia
DAY13:return home
(Everyday around 5 or 6pm the day ends so you have time to go out by yourself)

I'm so lucky. I'm so lucky I have parents that will pay for this. (However, I do have to make up half the pay with my summer job) I've always wanted to see the Mediterranean. The first place out of the US I ever wanted to visit was England, and I was fortunate enough to do that. And now I get to go to Greece. I can die happy.

Oh yeah.... Go Philly. Who you rooting for?
